I have been seeing country style kitchens all over the place at the minute – and I love them! They are so warm and inviting, rustic with hints of vintage – It’s totally my style. So, I’ve had a gander (as I often do) and found some inspiration, ideas and of course DIYs to add these country touches to your kitchen!
Read on for how to have a country kitchen! 🙂
A Rustic Table
Every country kitchen needs one. It’s a great focal point and really adds to the feel that you are going for. White washed tables will also give you bonus points! (How to whitewash can be found here)
I love this little table. I really like how the top is plain and the rest is painted white. It has that really country feel, but also brightens up the space, which is great if you have a smaller space
For me, the finishing touches make a room. The added extras that change a space from a show home, to something lived in. Some of my favourite additions to a country kitchen has to be bunting (which is really easy to DIY) and fresh herbs.
A mix of cream and beige everyday kitchen items look great displayed on a cake stand and they are great for keeping to hand
Love this bunting. It really fits into a country style kitchen and would be so easy to DIY!
Natural is Best
Natural materials are lovely anyway and are really effective in a home. Whether that be wooden furniture or copper pans natural materials really work together and their tones are so effective.
Don’t forget you can add colour too! It can be so easy to stick to white, beige and cream, especially with natural woods and materials, but you can add colour. You just have to think a bit about it – and don’t go crazy. A bright yellow might work in the space, but the best way to find out is trial and error. You can always paint it again or just take the bright item out after all!
This touch of green isn’t too overbearing and adds a brightening, fresh touch to the room
I think the most important thing to do when you have your own space, is to have fun. Don’t worry if you don’t think someone likes your design, as long as you do – that’s all that matters! Anyway, you’re the one that has to live in it.
You can easily add bright or funky tea towels to your kitchen
These cushions are just made out of hessian sacks and look so effective!
These cinnamon scented ornaments are a great idea and also add a touch of Christmas to the air
